Firefighter/Paramedic

Now hiring for the position of a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic with the Jackson Township Fire Department. Requirements to be eligible as a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic:

Necessary Certification, Upon Application:

• Valid State of Ohio driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record;
• State of Ohio Firefighter Level II certification, is required;
• State of Ohio EMT-P certification, required
• Current ACLS certification;
• NIMS certifications 100, 200 & 700, required

Additional Requirements:

• Successfully complete the Jackson Township Fire Dept. physical agility test.
• Successfully complete a comprehensive medical physical with pension requirements, prior pension physicals will not be accepted.
• Successfully complete Jackson Township's EMS evaluation.
• Successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation.
• Successfully complete a negative result drug screening.

Hiring Process:

• Complete the NTN testing process, scores will be forwarded to Jackson Township HR.
• Successfully complete the Jackson Township Fire physical agility test, conducted at JTFD.
• Complete the Jackson Township Fire Dept. EMS evaluation, panel format.
• Chief's interview, panel format.
• Conditional offers extended.*

*Selected applicant(s) must successfully complete an orientation training period.  The orientation period can be 1 week up to 6 weeks, which includes: a 40-hr work week (Monday - Friday 08:00 to 16:00); then assigned to a unit schedule (24/48) with a mentor, with a final orientation evaluation completed before placed on a permanent unit.  Orientation/Training schedule is subject to change as needed by the trainer(s) and/or the Fire Chief.
