Gateway West Drive renaming honors former trustee

The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio, city of Grove City and Jackson Township plan to honor longtime area resident, public servant and community advocate William Lotz Sr. during a dedication ceremony at 2 p.m. Sept. 12, 2017 renaming Gateway West Drive “Bill Lotz Way”. All are invited to attend the ceremony at the northeast corner of State Route 665 and Gateway West Drive, or at the alternate location — SWACO Administrative Office Building, 4239 London Groveport Road — in the event of rain.

The road renaming honors Lotz for his more than 20 years of service on the SWACO Board of Trustees representing the interests of the Franklin County Township Association and residents in the solid-waste district as an adjoining property owner to the Franklin County sanitary landfill. Lotz also served as a Jackson Township trustee for 12 years and as chief building official for the city of Grove City — a position he retired from in 1997.
