Fire Prevention Week is Oct. 5-11, 2014. Jackson Township Fire Division wants to remind residents to not only change smoke detector batteries twice a year (during time change) but to test smoke detectors monthly. Anyone who cannot afford a smoke detector or is unable to change its battery can call the Jackson Township Fire Division Fire Prevention Bureau at (614) 477-7336 for assistance. Remember the average life of a smoke detector is 10 years.
