Donate blood March 25, 2016 at Station 202

Every U.S. president since 1943 has designated March as Red Cross Month, and the American Red Cross honors those who donate blood and platelets, organize blood drives and volunteer in communities throughout the country. These everyday heroes are the face of the Red Cross and help save lives.

All eligible blood donors are encouraged to be a part of the Red Cross movement by donating blood from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 25, 2016 at Jackson Township Division of Fire Station 202 — 3650 Hoover Road in Grove City, Ohio.

The Red Cross must collect approximately 14,000 blood and platelet donations every day for the patients at about 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers nationwide. Blood and platelets are needed to respond to patient emergencies, including accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease.
