All Jackson Township Fire Division crews responded to an area apartment fire at 5:05 p.m. Aug. 27, 2014 likely caused from a lightening strike. Pleasant Township firefighters assisted.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a six-unit apartment building fully engulfed in smoke. The maintenance manager, who rescued a 12-week-old Boxer puppy, said the building was evacuated so thankfully no injuries were reported. One Jackson Township firefighter suffered from heat exhaustion but was not transported.
