Household hazardous waste disposal event Sept. 26, 2020

The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio will host its free household hazardous waste mobile collection event for all Franklin County residents from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 26, 2020 at the Kingston Center at 3226 Kingston Ave. in Grove City, Ohio. A list of accepted items is available at SWACO’s website, or identify key words on containers such as poison, danger, caution, flammable, corrosive or use in a well-ventilated areas.

Oil-based and spray paints will be accepted. Latex and water-based paints can be disposed with household trash after drying them by adding paint hardeners such as cat litter, sawdust or paper shredding. A $1 fee per can will be charged for any latex or water-based paint dropped off at the HHW event.

Residents are required to wear face coverings and remain in their vehicles when dropping off items for the safety of everyone.
