No injuries reported from Hyde Road residential fire

Jackson Township Division of Fire firefighters were dispatched at 3:02 a.m. June 2, 2017 to a structure fire on the 2300 block of Hyde Road in Jackson Township in Franklin County. Firefighters on arrival found a detached structure behind a residence fully engulfed in fire. No injuries were reported, and firefighters had the situation contained by 4:09 a.m.

Responding in addition to Jackson Township Division of Fire were Columbus Division of Fire, and firefighters from Franklin and Pleasant townships. The undetermined cause of the early-morning fire is under investigation, but the structure is considered a total loss while a nearby house sustained minor damage.

“The fire was extinguished successfully through a coordinated joint effort with surrounding fire departments,” said Jackson Township Fire Division Deputy Fire Chief Shawn Quincel. “Crews did an outstanding job containing the fire to the building of origin, and there were no injuries to citizens or fire personnel.
